Pumped up PB&J

PB&J Perfection 👌🏼 Want to make your kids peanut butter and jelly a little more nutrient packed? Start with a hearty whole wheat bread ( or whole grain if your kiddo won’t pick out any seeds like mine 🙄 ) Make sure there isn’t added sugar.

Use a natural peanut butter ( READ THE LABEL on this one!! ) A lot of peanut butters claim to be natural because they use cane sugar. Your peanut butter should just be peanuts. Nothing else needed!!

Make your own jelly ( not necessary but easy! ) Just purée whatever fruit you have, we used some overripe strawberries and peaches, cooked them down for about 5 min with some chia seeds. The amount of chia seeds can vary depending on the desired consistency. Chia seeds are rich in fiber, omega-3 fats, protein, vitamins and minerals.

Lastly, sprinkle hemp hearts inside the sandwich! Hemp hearts are a “perfect protein” not only containing all 20 amino acids, but also each of the nine essential amino acids that our bodies cannot produce.

Pretty easy but packed full of nutrition! Are your kids PB&J obsessed too?!
